Noe Valley Pet of the Month - January 2018

Noe Valley residents may recognize Benny as the dog who “begs” on his hind legs. Most of the time he’s not begging, he just wants you to know that he’s excited to see you. Amanda, Benny’s owner, has lived in Noe Valley for 5 years and is loving this dog friendly neighborhood.

What kind of dog and how old is Benny?
Benny is a four-year-old Shih-Tzu.

What are Benny’s favorite toys?
He LOVES squeakers. He has a squeaky lamb chop, a squeaky alligator, a squeaky squirrel, the list goes on.

Does he have a favorite game?
His favorite game is, “Is that a treat? I want one!”

What are Benny’s favorite parks and/or walking routes?
Benny’s never met a park he didn’t like! His favorite walking route is from 29th and Church street to 24th and then back again.

Does he have any doggie best friends?

Five more minutes! (he loves being in bed)

If your doggie was a person would he be the good kid or the rebel?
100% the good kid.

Do you find it easy to have a dog in Noe Valley?
Yes! There are lots of lovely places to walk. There’s also the dog park in the Upper Noe Valley Recreation Center and the Upper Douglass dog park. We’re lucky to be surrounded by great pet stores too.

What are your favorite dog friendly places in Noe?
VIP Scrub Club and VIP Grooming are our favorites. Benny has been going to Alejandro at VIP Grooming for years, he’s the best! The staff at both VIP’s are super friendly and they’re always happy to see Benny.
